# Use each account's site

> Open claude.ai or chatgpt.com as each account in a window of its own, and send pages there from your browser.

The menu bar app gives each enrolled account a window on its tool's site: claude.ai for Claude Code, chatgpt.com for Codex. Each window keeps website data of its own, so your accounts can be signed in side by side. Pitboard never reads, copies or changes what a window keeps.

## Open an account's window

In Pitboard's menu, choose **Open claude.ai as work**. When the site has several accounts, choose **Open claude.ai**, then the account. In the Pitboard window, you can also Control-click an account and choose **Open claude.ai** or **Open chatgpt.com**.

While a Pitboard window is open, the **File** menu and the Dock icon's menu offer the same items.

Each account has one window, titled with its label, and a rename keeps it signed in. A login with no label has no window.

Pages on other sites open in your default browser, so anything you connect there goes to the account your browser is signed in to.

For every item, note and shortcut, see [Account windows](/reference/app#account-windows).

## Sign in

The first time a window opens on this Mac, a note at its top says which email address to sign in with, and how.

Google does not allow its sign-in inside apps, so the window stops it and does not send it to your browser. Gmail, Google Drive and Google Calendar cannot be connected in a window either.

### claude.ai

<Steps>
  <Step title="Ask for the email">
    Enter the email address the note names, then click **Continue with email**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tap the link on your phone">
    Open the email on your phone and tap its link. On this Mac, the link would open in your browser instead of the window.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the code">
    In the window, enter the code claude.ai shows on your phone.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Google single sign-on does not work in a claude.ai window.

### chatgpt.com

Enter the account's email address, then its password or the code chatgpt.com emails you. You can also click **Continue with Microsoft** or **Continue with Apple**. Passkeys do not work in the window.

A sign-in page that chatgpt.com opens in a new window appears in a sign-in window, which shares the account's data.

## Open a page from your browser

Share a claude.ai or chatgpt.com page with Pitboard to open it as one of your accounts.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Share the page">
    In Safari, click **Share** in the toolbar or choose **File** > **Share**. In Chrome or Firefox, choose **File** > **Share**. Then choose **Pitboard**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the account">
    Select an account in the **Open Link** window. It first selects the one you chose last for that site, or else the account in use.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the page">
    Click **Open**. If the account's window is open, the page loads there, and **Back** returns to what it showed.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Anything on your Mac can hand Pitboard a link, so nothing opens until you choose. Pitboard refuses a page on another site with **Can't Open This Link**. It refuses a site's sign-in link too, which would sign the window in as whoever it belongs to.

With no account on the page's site, Pitboard shows **No claude.ai Account**. Click **Add Account**, and the link waits until you choose the account.

If **Pitboard** is not in the Share menu, see [Pitboard is missing from the Share menu](/troubleshooting#pitboard-is-missing-from-the-share-menu).

## Downloads

Downloads go to your Downloads folder and never replace a file: a second `report.pdf` becomes `report 2.pdf`.

A download from the site's own page is saved at once. One from another site, or from a frame inside the page such as an artifact, asks first.

The toolbar's **Downloads** button lists a window's downloads, and there you can cancel one or show it in Finder. Downloads go on after the window closes. Quitting Pitboard stops them for good and deletes what they wrote, so it asks first.

## Remove a window's data

To sign one window out, bring it to the front and choose **File** > **Remove Website Data**, then click **Remove**. Pitboard deletes the cookies and everything else the site keeps in that window on this Mac. The window starts again at the site's home page, with the sign-in note.

The site is not told, so the account stays signed in on your other devices and browsers.

Forgetting an account, in the app or with `pitboard forget`, deletes its window's data too. The app does it after its next successful read of the accounts. For the data it keeps for another Pitboard directory, see [Account windows](/reference/files#account-windows).
