# Move from another switcher

> Stop another account switcher, remove the logins it keeps, then add each account to Pitboard.

Use one switcher per tool, as [Other account switchers](https://docs.usepitboard.com/concepts/several-accounts.md#other-account-switchers) explains. Pitboard reads no other switcher's logins, so each account the tool is not signed in to after step 2 needs a sign-in.

**1. Stop the other switcher**

Quit it, and stop whatever runs it by itself. For claude-swap, stop each `cswap auto`, remove any scheduled `cswap auto --once` and run `cswap menubar --uninstall-service` if its menu bar app starts at login.

**2. Remove the logins it keeps**

Use the switcher's own command:

```sh theme={null}
cswap purge              # claude-swap
codex-auth remove --all  # codex-auth
```

As read in claude-swap 0.28.0, `cswap purge` leaves the login in use in place. As read in codex-auth 0.3.1, `codex-auth remove --all` also deletes Codex's `auth.json` where it holds a login codex-auth kept. Codex is then signed out.

Remove them before you enrol: otherwise `codex-auth remove --all` deletes the login of the account you enrolled.

**3. Add each account to Pitboard**

Follow [Add and manage accounts](https://docs.usepitboard.com/guides/accounts.md): add the account the tool is signed in to, then every other account with a sign-in. Where the tool is signed out, add every account with a sign-in, then [switch](https://docs.usepitboard.com/guides/switch.md) to one.

[Pitboard and other ways to use several accounts](https://docs.usepitboard.com/concepts/several-accounts.md) compares Pitboard with these switchers.
